Fearless Watercolor

by Iain Stewart
August 8–9 | ART321

Join internationally recognized watercolor artist Iain Stewart for a two-day immersive workshop focused on perception, process, and developing your unique visual voice.

Rooted in decades of painting from life, this workshop moves beyond technical perfection and into expressive meaning. Through daily demonstrations, guided painting sessions, and optional group critique, Iain will help you shift how you approach watercolor, learning to paint what you truly see, not what you think you should see.

Using his sketchbook as a primary tool, Iain introduces the power of daily drawing and breaks down complex subjects into simple shapes and geometric forms. You’ll explore how to quiet self-doubt, trust your instincts, and build confidence in your work.

This two-day format is intentionally focused—designed to simplify key concepts so they are immediately usable in your own practice.

What you’ll explore:

  • Seeing vs. interpreting subject matter

  • Simplifying forms into shapes and structure

  • Building a daily sketchbook practice

  • Watercolor techniques that support expression

  • Overcoming creative blocks and negative thinking

  • Developing confidence and personal style

Whether you're looking to deepen your practice or reconnect with why you paint, this workshop offers both technical insight and a mindset shift.

All levels welcome.
