David Metz “Actual Size” Exhibit

David uses a lot of techniques, such as painting, collage, object creation, and found objects, which rely on mathematical tendencies like repetition and transformation. He is especially interested in the interplay between random and order. Sometimes he’ll use the images of other artists as a starting point and transform them into something original yet reminiscent of past works. The titular artwork for this show was derived from the original artwork of a box of tacks. The style of artwork on that box appealed to David, similar to Andy Warhol’s interest in soup can labels and Brillo boxes. Step back in time with this nostalgic exhibit and experience a creative twist on the past.
