Our April Exhibit invites artists to explore the wonder and mystery of the "Secret Garden" theme. While some pieces may reflect the enchantment of hidden gardens, woodland creatures, or nature's quiet beauty, not all works are required to align strictly with this theme.

Artists are welcome to submit pieces that reflect their unique voice, whether inspired by the magic of the "Secret Garden" or by their own artistic journey. This balance of themed and open works creates a dynamic and diverse exhibit for all to enjoy.

Discovering Beauty: The Art of Finding Wonder

Event poster with green and blue landscape, trees, cloud, and text promoting 'Discovering Beauty' art exhibit from March 5 to March 29, featuring artist Envision, pop-up artists Ella Bishop-Heil and Ollie Fae, opening reception on March 6 at 5:30 PM with music by Cory McDaniel Duo, CASPER ARTISTS' GUILD logo, and the date established in 1924.

Our "Discovering Beauty" exhibit invites artists to explore the concept of beauty in unexpected places and forms. In a world that often rushes past, this theme asks both artists and viewers to pause and look deeper—where can beauty be found in moments, objects, or experiences we often overlook?

This exhibit is about exploring beauty beyond the obvious, whether in nature, human connections, or even imperfections. It could be the quiet elegance of a fleeting moment, the raw beauty of nature’s cycles, or the grace in something unconventional or broken. Artists are encouraged to reflect on how beauty can emerge from discovery, inviting viewers to see the world through fresh, curious eyes.

Whether through vibrant colors, subtle details, or abstract interpretations, "Discovering Beauty" seeks to inspire a sense of wonder and appreciation for the unexpected.

Our featured artist in March is our Envision Group.
Envision is an adaptive arts program providing a platform for individuals to explore their creativity through painting, clay work, printmaking, performing arts, and other artistic expressions. It’s an inclusive peer-led community of artists that is a fantastic way to nurture diversity and foster creativity.

You’re So Fly - An entomology exhibit.

Gallery banner for ART 321 by Casper Artists' Guild featuring images of insects and text about art exhibitions, artists, and reception dates.

This exhibit invites artists to delve into the intricate, often overlooked world of insects, encouraging them to uncover the beauty and complexity of nature’s smallest creatures. Through this exhibit, we challenge artists and viewers alike to EXPLORE the unseen and foster a deeper appreciation for the ecosystems that surround us.

From the delicate wings of butterflies to the intricate patterns of beetles, we encourage you to interpret the insect world's beauty, mystery, and sometimes quirkiness in your art.

Our featured artist for January and February is Leah Hardy.
Exhibited nationally and internationally, Hardy’s intimately scaled mixed-media sculpture explores and references our fascination with immortality and desire with the underlying yearning to connect, communicate, and gain insight.

A smiling older woman with gray hair tied back with an orange headband, wearing earrings and a striped shirt, standing in a craft or woodworking studio. The background shows a cluttered workbench with tools, a pin board with various items, and a large plant near the window.

A scale with two green, metal lobster sculptures hanging from either side, connected by a wire with a small tag in the center.
Person using a headlamp at night, standing next to a tall illuminated flag or banner held up by ropes, with dark background.

Hardy’s work has garnered numerous awards and inclusions in books, periodicals, juried and invitational exhibitions. Residencies have taken Hardy to Australia, New Zealand, China, and India. Hardy’s work is in public and private collections in the US, China, Czech Republic, New Zealand, Australia, Europe and India. Hardy retired as a Professor Emeritus in 2023 from the University of Wyoming where she established the Metalsmithing Program in 2009 in the Visual Arts Department.

Hardy was one of five finalists for the 2024 Women to Watch International Exhibition at the National Museum for Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C.

The National Museum of Women in the Arts is an organization committed to shining a spotlight on the incredible work of women artists. Every few years, they host an exhibition featuring top female artists from across the country, and for the first time ever, Wyoming was in the mix.

Adventures in Water Media

Event announcement poster with water-themed watercolor background. Text details a water media art exhibition titled 'Adventures in Water Media' with the subtitle 'Stretching the Boundaries of Paint & Style.' The event's opening reception is on October 3rd from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

Water media is often synonymous with watercolor, but in this exhibit, we set out to expand the public’s understanding of what water-based mediums can achieve. Adventures in Water Media showcases the diverse and expressive possibilities of paint when artists push the boundaries of traditional styles. This exhibition features artists from Casper and around Wyoming, each exploring their unique vision through water-based media, with at least 80% of each work created using materials such as watercolor, gouache, acrylics, and ink.

Through this exhibit, we hope to challenge perceptions and demonstrate that water media is not limited to one technique or form. From bold abstractions to intricate realism, the works on display prove that water-based mediums can be as versatile and dynamic as any other artistic tools. The artists in this show use their creativity to test the limits of style, material, and imagination.

July 9th - August 17

An art exhibition poster titled "The Butterfly Effect" featuring photos of monarch butterflies on pink flowers with soft pastel background, dates July 9th to August 17th.

The Butterfly Effect” will feature work made from clay that captures nature’s most beautiful and delicate insect. Work can be functional or sculptural, it just needs to celebrate the butterfly. We are seeing a decline in world butterfly populations from habitat loss, pesticides, and climate change. The idea of losing nature’s fly paintings is unimaginable. Over 100 years ART 321 has learned that artists and the arts are also delicate and precious. For the arts to thrive they need a safe and nurturing environment, by offering a center for the arts in Wyoming we continue to make changes and look forward to seeing the outcomes in the next 100 years

Connie Norman Exhibit

Connie Norman Ceramic Plates. with text and star pattern, overlaying a blue textured background.

Connie Norman is known for her painstakingly and beautifully constructed pottery. Armed with pieces of movable type, she presses each letter individually into the clay. She constructs each piece with a combination of hand-building techniques. Connie’s glazing process continues the meticulous process by cutting out each design from masking tape. Connie’s work has been shown internationally and has been published in Ceramics Monthly, Pottery Making Illustrated, Ceramics Now, 500 Vases, The Best of 500 Ceramics, and Surface, Glaze and Form: Pottery Techniques. Connie is also a Robert Rauschenberg Foundation Fellowship recipient, and received a Wyoming Art Council Visual Art Fellowship. She is a graduate of the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University.

Artist's Statement:

All my life I have struggled with writing; now my work is completely covered in text. This paradigm shift has allowed me to experiment in different art forms and face fears through the medium of art. It has been an interesting adventure in self-discovery! The text in my pieces acts on several levels. For instance, it has texture, pattern, and mystery, and it provides a path looking inward to decipher a glimpse into my private thoughts.

I am fascinated by the rhythmic qualities created by color, texture, and pattern. Decoration and the act of decorating are essential to me because decoration celebrates and enhances form and speaks purely of aesthetics. I use pottery as a vehicle to explore decoration and other formal questions: it allows me to investigate form, space, and image. My greatest satisfaction comes from thoroughly filling surfaces with color and finely detailed decoration in a spirit that I feel is playful and whimsical. I attempt to make the environment an expressive participant and to address the importance of aesthetics in our daily lives.

Join us, for the opening reception of Connie’s show on Thursday, July 11th at 5:30 PM

Previous Exhibits

June 1st - June 29th - Abandoned by Steve Knox

A colorful painting or digital illustration of the interior of an old, abandoned vehicle with a cluttered dashboard and a worn seat, promoting an art exhibition by Steve Knox titled 'Abandoned' at ART 321 from June 4th to June 29th, with a reception on June 6th from 5:30 to 8:30.

"Abandoned" is a compelling art exhibition featuring nearly 50 evocative pieces of 2D and 3D works collected over the past eight years. This collection serves as an investigation into the human experience, exploring the profound narratives embedded in objects, places, and thoughts that have been abandoned, forgotten, or left behind.

The central theme of "Abandoned" delves into the rich tapestry of the human past and memories. The artworks serve as a visual exploration of spaces that were once vibrant homes, now standing silent and decayed after years of exposure to the elements. Objects, once cherished, now exist as distant memories, provoking contemplation about the inevitability of change.

"Abandoned" invites viewers to embark on a journey through time and reflection. The exhibition aims to uncover the beauty in decay, prompting contemplation about the significance of what we leave behind. The pieces in this collection are not just remnants of the past; they are windows into forgotten worlds, sparking curiosity and encouraging viewers to ponder the reasons behind abandonment.

The collection comprises paintings and drawings that capture the essence of a long-forgotten past. Each piece is a visual narrative, inviting viewers to explore the stories behind abandoned places and objects. The artworks not only depict the inevitable decay of physical structures but also the intangible erosion of memories and emotions over time.

You can purchase Steve’s art a few ways. We have pieces from him in our Gift Shop. You can shop on his website.

Join us, Thursday June 6th, on First Thursday ArtWalk for an Artist Reception for Tessa Condelario, with RevYve, Art by Tessa.
Her exhibit, "The Starting Line" is opening on June 4th, in our gallery at Art321.

Tessa Condelario is a Casper, WY based artist who works in abstract arts using textures, inks, acrylics and more. Tessa was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV and moved to Casper after the loss of her mother. She always used art as a way to express herself and her emotions, but after losing her father eight years after her mother, Tessa began honing her skills as an artist and sharing her process and finished products on social media. With the support of her friends and family as well as the amazing Casper Community, Tessa started a small business named RevYve – Art by Tessa, where the mission is to reclaim used, unwanted canvases and give them new life with her art.

Promotional poster for art exhibition titled 'The Starting Line' by Tessa Condelario, running from June 4th to June 29th, with an opening reception on June 6th at Art321, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm, located at 321 W. Midwest Ave. The poster features a woman working on an abstract painting outdoors, black and white photograph.

A principal theme in Tessa’s work is layering colors, whether using ink or acrylics (or both!) and one might often find that a lot of her work resembles colors found in nature. However, there are no bounds to her practice. Tessa believes that art lives in everyone and each piece she creates is derived from the feelings and emotions she was experiencing at the time of creation.

While this is only the beginning of Tessa’s journey in the Art World, she is beyond excited to see where she can go and how much of her story and her love she can share with the world in the form of Art.

You can find Tessa online.
